19th C. Zanskar Nambu Tigma Monastery Runner Antique Textile Art. Very Cool on the resourceful aspects. Everything is reused! This is padded and has a yak blanket backing too. Would have been a monastery runner.

Nambu is the tibetan word for this woven wool style and the tigma for the tie and dye process that creates these crosses. Crosses in Tibetan Buddhism are similar to the swastika. It signifies good luck and well being.
