Early 20th C. Antique Ladakhi Shawl. Tie-dyed Tibetan Lingtse Cape, This style of cape is found in Zanskar. This may be older but the traditional hand woven tie and dye Ladakhi Shawls has not been made since 1960's. Today women opt for more common western styles. A few very old women still wear these during festival time. Very cool string connection at the top corners. These were worn on the back, a string would tie loosely across the shoulders. Nice subtle purple color, the common variations in the base make these so eye catching.
