Early 20th C. Antique Tibetan Apron Blanket of Vegetable dyes. Still common today is the Tibetan Apron worn by married women. Generally speaking they are store bought today. On occasion I see village women weaving them on a loom, they weave in traditional method using chemically dyed wool. A Tibetan apron uses traditional contrasting colors. No apron, she is single. Usually aprons are 3 or 4 panels long. Bigger pieces are unique. I love the colors. ![]() |
